Description of Schizophrenia variables

If the default for a variable is "random", the experiment will be run without regard to that variable. That is, you will bet a sampling of values on that variable. Thus "sex" will sometimes be the same, sometimes opposite in any given group in this simulation unless you specifically choose to control it.

The variables under your control include the following: number of actual subjects in a given condition; whether or not the Index subject has already been diagnosed as a schizophrenic (with a strict diagnosis, as opposed to one of "schizoid personality"); the kind of relatives of the Index subject you want to study, from completely unrelated to identical twin. You may or may not choose to include borderline "schizoid personalities" along with strict schizophrenics (but you canšt have both categories in the same run). You may choose the sex of the Index and/or actual subjects or you may disregard sex as a factor. Finally, you may control whether or not the experimenter (who looks up the records) is also the diagnostician or whether they are separate and operate independently.

Select the values of the variables.
